About the Creators

Swurl LogoSwUrl is the creative child of Mina Hunt begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting and Deirdrie Cullen; two women who understand the journey of life and its many highs and lows.  Together they have a commitment to unfold their own inner beauty by creating events that encourage women to step out of their pain and drudgery and into their joy and imagination.  By following their own SwUrl, they have created a path for others to join them.

MINA HUNT is a joyful mother of two beauty daughters Ellie 19 and  Sofie 14. She understands the stresses and pressure of being a single mother and how lonely and financially hard this can be.  Mina’s commitment has been to set an example for her daughters to discover what it is that makes their heart sing, and to do it.  In doing so, Mina revealed an excellence in sales  and generated more than $23 m for a start up company in 2009.  She now brings that passion and success to the face of women’s events and wraps that same commitment and dedication around the women she chooses to encourage to find their own SwUrl.

DEIRDRIE CULLEN shares a magical space in the Hinterland of the Gold Coast with the father of her children  and their three delightful offspring, Hannah, Isaac and Erynn.  An internationally acclaimed professional photographer, Deirdrie gained a reputation in capturing life time memories of the birthing experience for many women and families creating beautiful Calenders with proceeds assisting the HomeBirth Association and birth reform in Australia.  Additionally she has been a powerful member of community holding many leadership roles in various  pro-active groups and school organisations.  Deirdrie brings her creative skills and organisational abilities to unfold through SwUrl.

Deirdrie Cullen & Mina Hunt Creating SwUrl

Deirdrie and Mina have been friends and colleagues for nearly 14 years, starting with their first venture, “The All Natural Family Fair” in 1998 which was held at Mudgeeraba attracting over 150 sites and 3000 people to explore the potential of living naturally.

They have advocated over the years proactively within our community on many levels with Deirdrie’s most recent claim to fame being the organisation of 300 women to canvass the closing of the GC Birth Centre. She rallied 300 women together within 12 hours of notification which successfully halted the closure of the Birthing Centre.

Mina and Dee are committed to creating magic within their own lives and this unfolds, flowing out into everything they are involved in. Their lives are one ceaseless SwUrl, making them a joy and inspiration to be with.
